I need to do an oil change this weekend. Using VRP 5W-30. There’s an STP S4967XL I got from AutoZone as part of an oil promo. Also have a Puro Boss and plenty of OE Toyota N1 filters. It’s going on a Prius with almost 225K on it. It does drink oil but I don’t anticipate any severe loading of the media.

If someone picked one and installed it for you without telling you which one it was - you'd never know the difference. Unless you cheated and peeked.
The Boss is the oldest. Got it from AAP’s fire “sale” for $4. The STP has a 2024 production date, Toyota filters are fresh. I use them on the Camry my dad drives for Uber in.

STP XL if it’s premium guard based. wouldn’t use the BOSS or the OE toyota filters. known rock catchers.
I used the Boss. It seemed OK. I’ll see about a post-mortem of it.
First run of VRP? What's the planned OCI with VRP?
I wouldn't use an inefficient filter like the Boss or Toyota if there's going to be crud going into the oil from the VRP.

Second run of VRP. First run was with a Carquest Blue, I used the old Fram Ultra with VPBR.
