Interesting stat. Current generation 5 series (F10) has a sales rate of only 7% for manual transmissions compared to the 8 speed automatic.
"The one that got away" for me was a pristine carbon black 2007 530xi MSport that I nearly bought last year but didn't because I thought they wanted $3K too much. I didn't like the e60s when they came out but they have really grown on me since their release in 2003. I often regret that choice, as I haven't seen one as nice on the market since.
