DIY Excursion. Looks like they spliced the end of of a Bronco onto the frame.
Yup, but that was the special edition back then. They literally called these the 4 door Broncos. I remember seeing these Centurions back in 2010-era and thinking how awesome these were. Nowadays they are far and few between, this one is a nice survivor. Although not original, since it's been repainted. Still nice, and 7.3L is a great bonus.

Stopped on a rest top east of Ft Riley, KS. Saw this and was like "woah". Realizing that this was a european vehicle I had to change my settings and was luckily able to remember German from college and have a nice discussion. I should have got my associates degree in German, I impressed him and greeted him with dignity and respect. He was blown away as was I, I spoke like a child but between us the German-English we conquered many topics. I might be able to drive myself back now to motivate myself to go and get my two year degree. The german people are awesome regardless of whats going on back home. He was gracious as was I and am thankful I heard this tongue as a kid and in university studies. Apparently i have a Bavarian accent, but our guest was excited to visit and corrected my grammar. I wish him well on his travels and made him feel welcome. This would have never been possible unless I decided to take a chance ; to greet someone and get to know them. As a grandson of Swiss and German immigrants, I had the chance of a lifetime experience.
Riding high on emotions I think 🤔 communicating with foreign visitors in their tongue shows respect and my hope is many more will come through Kansas to visit us. Tschuss!

More info, better pics:

I was fortunate to see the car when then-owner Paul Andrews was liquidating his extensive collection. Apparently, the buyer “flipped” the car for $1.1m, if I am interpreting all this correctly.

My first reaction was “a face only a mother could love.” But it was eye-catching, and looks better in the rmsothebys pictures. I’ll dredge up a few more pics of “interesting” cars from that auction, from silly to serious.

Paul had quite the life, from what I could tell; rest in peace.
