Photo Thread for Unusual Vehicles

Rare & unusual incoming.
1990 Lexus ES250, I have only ever seen 1 of these in my life. Front facia is giving off strong JDM Toyota Crown vibes.

More pics of it. Low mileage, and is for sale. I think it looks as good as its competitors at the time, the Acura Vigor & Legend. I do see more of those survivors than an ES250.

Oh yeah, I remember those very well!

Growing up in the Memphis area, lots of people bought them.

At that time, the Japanese were already a few years into their absolute domination of automotive quality, and everyone was absolutely just astounded by the quality and refinement that cars like the (new for 1989, and aimed squarely at Mercedes) LS400 offered, for the price.

The ES250 always looked a lot like the Cressida to me, but it was Camry-based, FWD/V6 instead of RWD/I6 like the contemporary Cressida:

Wikipedia says less than 40,000 were made, and only 2 years for this body style: 1990 & 1991. Cool that they also offered it in a stick.

If I’d been in the market for something like this back then, my money probably would have gone to a Nissan Maxima SE 5-speed or a Legend 5-speed, as both are sportier and quicker than this.

I haven't seen an Acura Vigor, Legend or a 2.2/2.3CL in over a decade. They used to be everywhere. I wonder if they were all junked or ended up in a third world country somewhere?

I'll have to dig out a photo that I took years ago. A guy pulled up in a gas station with a Lexus sc430 with a monster truck lift 4x4 and 4 wheel steering. Quite the oddity.

Come to Charlotte. I'll show you at least 5 of each. Even got a lead on a manual 3.0L CL.
