Now that's a killer!! I have a 2002 Suburban Z71 and it still has the PF59 listed in the manual as the required filter

Patman......somewhere here on the forum I posted an article from the filter manufacturing council......it clearly spelled out that for environmental reasons car manufacturers are going back to the canister style filter (less waste, less oil remaining in discarded filter elements, etc.). This could also be a very valid reason for manufacturers to go to smaller filters if filtration needs for the application can be met by them. they certaily pollute less than a filter twice its size.

B2-HPG: 8 micron nominal, 23 micron absolute. Beta at 8 = 2 (50%). Beta at 23 = 75 (~100%). Flow is 6-7GPM before any bypass.

They sound quite good. I'm waiting for my first shipment.

I tried them a little while ago. Closest dealer was 100 miles. Called them, they only handle HD truck and industry etc, not automotive. The nect closest was 175 miles and they are HD truck too. Most of the places the come back for my zip are HD truck or industrial supply etc.
