An UPDATE:

I was contacted by Petro Canada and they requested a sample from this same bottle. Just today they got back to me after submitting it in house for additive metals analysis through their QC lab. The results are as follows:

Ca = 0.225 (2250 ppm)
P = 0.078 (780 ppm)
Zn = 0.094 (940 ppm)

He indicated that these results correspond closely to the batch analysis that was that was conducted on the manufacturing date and confirms that the product that I received is on spec for all additive metal levels.

He of course is convinced that we are seeing is a difference in labs and/or analytical methodology/techniques.

If you look at my original post the levels shown by Blackstone for the first test on the virgin sample and then the retest, they are basically half of these latest numbers. *If* this is true then it sure does put into question wear #s from Blackstone of course the corresponding analysis based upon them

Hmmm....the PC 0w30 isn't SM-compliant with a Zn level of 940....makes me question THEIR results, although they are what I'd expent this oil to show......
