When referring to a specific grade, use the grade itself (e.g. SAE 20, SAE 30, 5w-20, 10w-40, etc.).

When asking an open-ended question, use "viscosity grade" (e.g. "what viscosity grade is best?").

What will happen to all the people that thing the w in 0w30 means weight? They will be lost in the forest trying to comprehend why everyone else lied to them growing up.

Whats wrong with weight? Weight, WEIGHT, Tom Waits, WAIT! If you want to jettison a term that has lost its meaning try Full Synthetic - now that's a meaningless term!

Weight is another term when referring to oil viscosity. Does it really matter and bother you THAT much? Lol

The 100% synthetic phrase has got to go for real. Now-a-days every oil has a full synth label on it but in reality, non of them are "FULL" synthetic, only partially.

It's silly i tell you!

I don't think "weight when I think of her, I think "ignorant dumb [censored]".

Motion seconded. Move to dismiss.

I'm going to start using it more. I just like how it sounds.

Let's ditch the SAE number system while we're at it. It's numbers don't really correspond to anything specific and the motor oil and gear oil having two different numbers for the same viscosity range confuses many. At least the ISO system references something specific.
SAE viscosity ranges could be A, B, C... and still have the same significance.

That better? LOL!

The "W" means winter, not weight. Why "W" is still included is beyond me.
