Because the OE will shear down? So you want your fresh fluid to be already that low in VI? Makes no sense.
I want something that starts with OE specified VI and... stay there as long as I am using it.
AMSOIL Signature Series (non fuel efficient), Red Line D4...

A viscosity drop of about 0.75 cSt with a fluid specifically designed for manual transmissions?

Viscosity shear down with an ATF means less fluid film for bearings and gear teeth. My preference is to use a stable MTF that does not shear the fluid film for wear protection and one that provides the proper synchro friction modification, which an ATF does not have.
