Penzoil Platinum - pure plus or not

If one was to get some Pennzoil to take advantage of the rebates and FRN rewards, should I get the Platinum or the Platinum Pure plus at the same price point? I don't think the ultra platinum pure plus will be an option, but if it was, which order should I be getting them?

I know it's new and not a lot of knowledge or any used oil analysis, so what would you do for a stock up? The original or the new? PP, PPPP, PUPP which order? 5-30 Dexos 1, for use in silverado's.

I still have a lot to learn to be able to understand most of the oil talk that goes on here.

I'd say try the new stuff if the price is the same. It meets the same approvals/specs so it's at least as good as the old stuff, perhaps better.

Have you been able to find it though? I have called a few Walmart's and none have the 5qt 5w30.

It appears that SOPUS changed the formula before they changed the label, so it may not matter which label you pick up.
Either way, PP has been a go-to oil since its introduction, so I'd not hesitate to use either labled jug.
I've posted three nice Pennzoil Platinum used oil analysis from three different engines, so I've been pleased with the oil.

Go against the grain. Go with the old label. You know what it is, you know it is good and not a decrease in quality.

Just filled two vehicles with the new PP Pure Plus 5W30 ... Actually stepped up from 5W20 in both a Kia and a Hyndai and both engines running very well and noticeably quieter on the new oil.

If you hesitate, go with Castrol EDGE synthec, i started to really like it, use to not be a fan of castrol, but really nothing bad at all with castrol edge.

It makes my chevy cruze running well. Often on sale. Stock up. No worries.

I would wait to see UOA of the new pennzoil to see how great its suppose to be, to me its just a load of [censored], marketing hype propagana.

If the metal wear would be incredible, maybe i would consider, I would go with the old pennnzoil synthetic in a heart beat.

If one was to buy the old PP, do they run the risk of getting a jub without a code?
