OCI was neglected by previous owner. (Maybe never changed.) Oil on the dipstick looked like asphalt. I had the oil changed and drove a few hundred miles and had it changed again. This is the first analysis on this engine.

This truck had no air filter in it.

Local independent oil change facility put this oil in so I am unsure if it is Penzoil, but that was the name on the sticker.

Short trips.

I will do Auto-RX after a couple more flushes with SuperTech 15W-40 & ST Oil Filter.

Oil Report

Blackstone comments: "Nothing too unusual showed up in this sample from your 95 F150. Wear levels read about average, or perhaps a little higher when you look at the wear rate per mile. Universal averages show wear from this type of engine after about 3300 mi on the oil. We did find a little fuel dilution. This level is not more than you can get from city driving/idling, so we do not think it is a mojor problem. This oil doesn't look bad, for being neglected. Check back to establish trends."

I think Last_Z has a good point with the LC/FP to improve ring seal. Maybe a couple of Auto-RX cleanings would help break the crud out of the ring pack too.

No. I discovered it after I took this sample and changed the plugs & wires. The above sample is without any air filter installed.

Heck, the fact that the truck even runs at 177k with that kind of history attests to the I6's toughness. Considering the neglect, the UOA numbers seem pretty spectacular.

Blackstones amazes me on a weekly basis.
They say there is a "little" fuel dilution.....when the fuel has clearly reached their own limits and flashpoint is rock bottom!
Of course, they summed it all up by starting with "nothing too unusual showed up!"

I don't care how much city driving one does.....that is way too much fuel in the oil. If you only ran your vehicle for a minute or two daily.....then maybe. I think your truck is showing it's age. Lack of TLC does not help either. ARX and FP, preceeded by a good tune-up come to mind.....preceeded by a compression/leak-down test.

Yippie!

My 2nd shipment of Auto-rx just arrived. I'm going to treat this dog-of-a-truck and go for a long, long drive.
