Pennzoil Synthetic (NOT platinum)

Noticed in next weeks CT flyer there is Pennzoil synthetic. Not platinum, just called pennzoil synthetic, looked it up on their web site.

Anyone familiar with this? Pretty good price, at least, compared to what we usually pay around here

Hmmm, just noticed it's SL rated, not SM.

I believe this was their pre-Platinum synthetic. Probably a few years old by now.

Hmmmm.... CT is advertising it as a "new product". New to them maybe lol. I'd think this would use the same kind of date codes as PP right?

I may just have to pop into a CT and check this out.

PP data sheet says May 2007 and the non Plat lists 2003 date.

Looks like similar packaging to the boxes of 5 PP with a bottle of wax thrown in that I got at Wal-Mart for $20 a couple of weeks ago.

I may go take a look at it tomorrow, just to see what it actually is. I have enough oil for two years of oil changes, but I am curious to see what this stuff is.

That Wal-Mart deal was a good one, eh? Dunno what I'll do with the wax though, as I use Zaino on my car.

Just disregard the old Pennzoil Synthetic picture. That oil formulation and label is gone from production. There are a couple of online stores that show the same pic -- but deliver you the Platinum.

Yep, what Triple_Se7en said is correct.

It's a box of 5 bottles of Pennzoil Platinum with a bottle of Pennzoil Fuel System Cleaner thrown in.

If you take the Pennzoil Fuel System Cleaner at it's retail value ($14.99 CDN) you're getting the PP at $3.00 a bottle.

Not sure what happened, but a box of that stuff jumped into my arms and came home with me

It's not as good a deal as the clearance deal Wal-Mart had a few weeks ago, but then again I actually could use the Fuel System cleaner, whereas the Rain-X wax from the Wal-Mart deal will not get used at all.

Well, if you consider the fuel system cleaner to be WORTH 14.99 lol. But even so, it's a great deal. I think I'll have to grab a couple boxes tomorrow.

Yep, it is in fact PP. Grabbed 2 boxes yesterday. I might just grab a couple more next time I'm out there.
