Well, after much deliberation I decided to go with the Pennzoil Platinum for our "new" 2005 Honda Element with 123k miles. While standing in the oil section at Walmart anguishing over what oil to buy(BITOG member for sure!), I noticed that the Pennzoil Platinum 5w30 bottle stated that it met the HTO-06 Honda spec and GM 4718M while the Pennzoil Platinum 5W-20 bottle did not contain those specs. I was puzzled by this as Honda is known for specifying 5w-20 for most of its newer vehicles; how is it that the 5w-20 does not meet this? Do all of you think the HTO-06 spec is necessary for the 2.4L Element engine?

A Hondaphile would know for sure, but I did a quick search on Honda's website and it appears that HTO-06 is only specified for the turbocharged RDX, in 5w30 viscosity.
