I recently purchased two jugs of PP 0w20. This is the first time that I have purchased a Pennzoil product in a 5-qt jug; normally I use Mobil 1 0w-20 (and other XOM products).

I found the PP jugs to be extremely difficult to use. The jug is simply too tall and the opening is too small, resulting in lots of splashing when pouring the oil into the engine. Due to the shape of the jug, the oil is filled very close to the top, so pouring from a full jug is guaranteed to make a mess. In comparison, I find the Mobil 1 jugs to be MUCH easier to use - easy pouring, no splashes at all.

Has anyone else noticed this? I think this may be a deal breaker for me - I would rather use Mobil 1 than deal with these awful PP jugs.

After nearly 16k posts on BITOG I really hope you're trying to troll and not being serious.

If you are serious...try a funnel.

1. April fools - haha
2. If not, use a funnel
3. Go ahead use M1, more left on the shelf for PP users

Actually I was not kidding - I do use a funnel, and I've tried a variety of funnels with no luck. The PP jugs are a pain to handle, even with a funnel. Unless you have a very tall funnel, you are guaranteed to make a splash since the oil is filled to the brim on the jug. The shape of the jug makes it difficult to pour, IMO.

I thought it was a April fools joke. My bad

I don't know what to tell you...maybe try the "Das Boot" trick while pouring...http://www.beerfestboots.com/how-to-drink-from-a-beer-boot/info_26.html

Just did an oil change on Saturday with PP. Used a funnel. Side note - Not sure why the Toyota engineers blocked most of the opening with some kind of internal engine shield on the Venza V6.
The trick is to hold the bottle with the hole at the top at about 80 degree rotation so that the oil flows out in a contolled method and gradually rotate through 45 degrees and to normal position while pouring to keep the flow going.
