I haven't seen any Pennzoil Platinum 5W-20 in the 5 quart bottles at any Wal-Mart stores lately. It doesn't even look like there's a barcode place on the shelf for it. There is a sparse supply of 5w30 5 qt. bottles and 5W-20 in the 1 qt. bottles. Is this the case for you guys in your local stores? I am considering M1 in the 5 qt. bottle for $3 more if I can't find any PP.

You'd be surprised, last time I checked Wal-Mart tends to charge quite a bit for individual quarts of Pennzoil Platinum ($5-6 IIRC).
The voices in my head always tell me that the oil companies supply their higher price buyers first. But that is just the voices in my head.
The price difference for buying 5 1-qt bottles instead of the 5-qt bottle is fairly significant.
PP 5-qt is $23
M1 5-qt is $26
and the PP 1-qt bottles are ~$6 a piece.

It's in Walmart here as of last week for 26.95 for 5 quart jugs. By the quart it was 6.99 I quit looking when I saw those prices, don't need it anyway with my stash. M1 supplies were very thin.
The last time I bought PP it was $19 for the 5 quarts container. The walmart employee's look at you like your bolts need tightening when you ask them to load the pallet in the back of the truck.

WM here in SW FL/ is $23 per 5 Q Jug. The shelve is getting thin. Does PP get their base stock from Mobil?
