Why Shell makes 5w30 so watery?

It falls within the viscosity requirements for the grade, if you're worried it is too thin for your needs I'd suggest you move up to the next grade.
Is there any objective evidence to show they don't know what they're doing with their formulations? There are plenty of AW additives that won't show up in a $30 UOA....
Curious as to what anti wear additives that don't show up on an oil analysis? Ed
Probably similar to the ashless detergents that don't show up on a TBN test... I'm not the formulator. Maybe Mola will weigh in.
