Pennzoil Conventional GF-5

I have read a number of threads with conflicting information in regards to the Pennzoil Conventional oil being updated to GF-5 standards.

Has this upgrade officially occurred? Or is it still in progress?

If I get an oil change from a Jiffy Lube that is supplied with bulk Pennzoil, will I receive the GF-5 product? For how long has the GF-5 version been in the pipeline?

From what I read and see is the GF-5 is out in their newly designed/labeled Pennzoil conventional bottles but isn't "officially" out till October. Bottle reads "Meets or Exceeds GF-5" but isn't GF-5 certified as of yet.

As far as the distribution pipeline who knows, its possible they may have it given how quick they go through oil.

Are they lowering the ZDDP again in GF-5? I have been out of the loop on it.

Since officially GF-5 is not available until 10-1-10 I doubt you'll see it officially till then.

Anytime there is a new spec the transaction period will take months or years. I'd not expect an 100% guarantee that you WILL get GF-5 way after 10-1-10 or until the container is marked so.

Not that big of an deal unless you have a vehicle that REQUIRES GF-5 to be used. I'd certainly not spend any time looking for it.

Among other things, the new Pennzoil conventional states it's cleaning is enhanced up to 46%, vs 15% for the older version.
