Pennzoil Availability

Last oil change was 9 months and 5k ago at which Walmart had Synthetic Blend Dexos from Pennzoil. Now shocker. No Synthetic Brand and No filter. I check locally without any luck. No Synthetic Brand close to me so I had to get Platinum at 25.17 from Walmart and filter from parts store. Parts store wanted 36.99 for same oil and don't carry syn blend pennzoil. So to change oil have to go to two different stores talk about a pain. Oh well better oil and factory oil filter should be good for another 9 months or 5k. Mother went to get some couple months ago and came back with Pennzoil Gold cause didn't have Synthetic Dexos Blend. Don't even see it on there website and they recommend Platinum for my Saturn Vue. Has this oil been discontinued?

I believe Pennzoil Gold is their Dexos synthetic blend. That is what I use and the availability at Walmart has been hit and miss.

I know back a year or so and there was a debate about this and Pennzoil stated 2 different products. Still 2 different recommendations on there website. Funny how they show gold and not Dexos synthetic blend but show Dexos Synthetic Blend as recommended for newer GM. Just confusing.

On there website the Synthetic Blend is recommended but at top it states Platinum. Also it only show Gold for synthetic blend and Synthetic Blend Dexos for your GM product.

The Pennzoil Gold Synthetic Blend motor oil product is currently on our website (and the 0W20, 5W20, and 5W30 viscosity grades are all Dexos 1 certified). So yes, we still make this motor oil and it is available. You should be able to find it at AutoZone, Wal-Mart and/or Pep Boys. - The Pennzoil Team
