Prep Boys had this stuff on sale last week for $6.99 after rebate with a ProLine filter. I picked up 10qts of 5w30 for my collection. Who makes it and does anybody know anything about it?

It's funny that Pep Boys had it listed in their sales flyers. None of the Pep Boys around here even carry Peak oil. Just for kicks, I asked about it at one of our Pep Boys and was told it was a regional sale.

Of course I had to point out that the sales flyer was distributed in this region. No answer.

Autozone carries Peak oil but when I looked at it, only the 5w-30 was SM rated, the rest of the grades were SL.

Well I assume the SL rating = higher ZDDP which means I need to pick some up for my 77 GMC. I will have to check out the local Pep Boys.

The funny thing is, I've heard commercials on the radio about Peak motor oil "exclusively at Auto Zone."

i bought it on sale at autozone last spring..it is made by WPP and was in the exact same bottle as super tech oil, with exact markings on 5-20...wpp will be on bottom of bottle...warren performance products

O'Reily's has/had a deal in which you got 5 qts. Peak oil, a Microgard filter and a bottle of Champion injector cleaner for....I think...12.99. Used some 5W30 in my mom and dad's Liberty. Passed the eyeball test at least. In fact, it looked like Valvoline the way it hit the funnel and beaded up. And so far so good; parents have driven 1400 miles and engine still holding together.

What I used was SM by the way.
