What does the forum think about Peak Conventional Oil?

My Subaru seemed to like the synthetic version. Nice and quiet.
Used the 5w30 flavor in the Focus last year. did just fine.

I bought 14 jugs of it. I have not used it yet in my car but I put it in my brother's van and he likes it so far. I will give him one more oil change with the Peak Performance motor oil. The other dozen jugs are mine! He is a great guinea pig. Thanks bro.
Used the synthetic on my 2000 Explorer with 175K+ miles. Did perfectly fine for 3500 miles -- could have gone longer but I did a Seafoam treatment and wanted to change the oil. I'd rather give them the business than Mobil, etc.
Friend has been using Peak oil in his truck and he seems to like it. No used oil analysis, but the price can be right so that makes him happy I guess.
Peak is good stuff and has clawed it's way up from off brand to entry level name brand oil IMO. The 5w20 has an unusually high VI for a conventional 5w20 as well if that's your thing.
I just missed a really good deal at BigLot's on PEAK oil. A guy beat me to it. BigLot's put it on sale for $2.50/qt and I also had a $5 off/$15 purchace. I was only able to find a few straggler qts remaining.
I have used PEAK oil since it's introduction to the market back ~2009 and I like the way it makes an engine smooth/quiet. The price was the real deal back then too but now, it's price has been climbing with the other brands.

It's actually made by Old World Industries, and they use a good amount of Boron in the add pack. It's a real sleeper yet, but the word is getting out.
I can get it at the local Fleet Farm occasionally for $9 a 5-quart jug. I used it in my SIL's Impala for 5k mile OCIs and it worked quite well.

Used coventional 5w30 in Explorer 4.0 and conventional 10w-40 Jetta 2.Slo without issue and both ran well.
Tried synthetic 5w30 in Silverado 5.3 and was louder and noisier than anything else I've run thru the Silverado. Not a huge difference, but a difference was there. Also experience a very short but very loud lifter rapping with going from high revs to idle towards the end of a 5000 mile OCI. Coincidence, I do not know, but I'll not try again in the Chevy. As far as the others, the next OCI on the Jetta will likely be a Peak 5w30/10w-40 blend for the winter.

Peak is resonably priced off the shelf over here in the Los Angeles area. As long as it meets the car manufacturers requirement I'd use it in a heart beat. I admit I'm a synthetic user though.
