Paying via Credit Card through PayPal?

For once and for all, you do need a Paypal account to send money. I honestly don't know why Paypal and other people say that you do not need one. It's ridiculous.

I'm not claiming to be a Paypal expert, I'm just saying my website shows this. So unless Paypal is being sneaky (hmm...imagine that!) and this is signing you up for an account, it looks to me like you can pay with a cc without having an account.

(Also you can select the country)

I had a closed bank account but forgot to inform paypal. Accidentally charged the bank account and paypal showed it as cleared! Uh oh I thought as I was dreading my old bank coming after me with all sorts of fees etc. But then paypal politely but firmly told me to fix it, and did in fact charge my credit card.

It's one of the funny/irritating things about the ACH system, when something is "cleared" it may not really be.

Go to this site and view the demo link near the top.

The Paypal "Website Payments Standard" seems to allow CC payments without a paypal account. This could be a website feature only (or so it seems).

But, since Mori isn't using a web site and this is a private sale, there is a good chance his customer does need a paypal account to use a CC.

That makes the most sense so far, but the question is if any sense is involved!

I'll just tell the guy to spring for Western Union. Sadly, they put away with International money orders (supposedly to prevent money laundering), which were cheap (ca $4 fee). A bank transfer for a small amount can cost half of the amount in fees. Sending $50 worth will cost about $25 in fees!

Ahhh...the payment for the "mission" of the other week.

I would have thought they'd pay in unmarked bills, Krugerrands, or diamonds.

He's trying to pull covert ops under the radar of the agency. Organizations within organizations ..and mori there ..freelancing on side projects.

..I see you're lost without Geldpenny. She handled all that stuff for you.

As a seller on eBay, if you allow payment through Paypal, you open yourself up to chargebacks buy the buyer. If this happens, and it did to me this year and I lost $1500.00, Paypal will do nothing to help you get your stuff back or your money back. In my case, the chargeback was filed and Paypal deducted the $1500.00 from my Paypal account, account went negative. Now the buyer has his money back and my stuff. Paypal has been really horrible in helping me get my stuff back, did nothing. My only option is small claims court and I'm not sure if I'll win, but I'm going to do it because its the right thing to do.

I believe this should say "if you allow payment with credit card trough PayPal."

chargebacks

When you set up your account, you should have a default funding source. That is where the money comes from. You may also set up a secondary, or third source. I toggle back and forth depending on my needs. When you go to pay for something, it will say something to the effect of "funding from bank account xxxxxxxx", for a credit card it would say something like "paying with credit card xxxx xxxx xxxx 1234". I am always shown where the money is coming from BEFORE the vedor is paid. I always have a choice. Next transaction look for "more funding options". I hope this helps.

Pay Pal is a scam through and through. Google Pay Pal scams and you'll read a lot of horror stories about the "service".

I quit accepting them awhile back. Plus, they are known to be strongly anti-gun and will screw up transactions when they get wind of firearms sales. Commies.

Well, I have a Premier account, and I do have a card/bank account listed as my "primary" funding source. However, when I pay with PayPal, I have never seen where I get the choice of picking a funding source. The payment comes always out of my PayPal account (because I always have money in it), not out of my "primary" funding source. Where do you see "more funding options?" If I go to "send money," I also don't see a funding source option. For example, I don't know how I would for example send an e-check, or how to pay with card instead of paying out of the available PayPal funds.
