Man, there was a time that AM radio was a must for me. Paul Harvey and Coast to Coast with Art Bell then George Noory were staples for me.

A HS history teacher who was good had us listen to it in the late 80s likely on tape in class. I did not mind it.

One of the ones I remembered best was there, listed as "Vacuum cleaner". Not surprisingly, it was about the invention of same.
Mr Harvey did a hilarious one about young Joe DiMaggio, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be there.

I read Garrison Keillor's Substack blog. I've loved much of his writing, and have read several of his books more than once. The Lake Wobegon stuff is marvellous.
However, he really put me off a few months ago; he publishes selected letters from his readers, and one gentleman asked whether he (Keillor) had considered doing something along the lines of Paul Harvey's news program and Rest Of The Story.
Mr Keillor answered disdainfully that he didn't care for Paul Harvey's type of reporting (and by implication, we commoners who enjoyed Mr Harvey).
I lost some respect for GK that day.
