Passenger Lands Aircraft After Pilot Incapacitation

Very fortunate that the non-pilot was able to safely land the airplane. As an experienced flight instructor, I can tell you that I've never had a single student that could have landed an airplane safely the first time they were at the controls.

This is a case of "I'd rather be lucky than good"

Glad it ended in a safe landing.

I just watch the landing video, thats incredible!!!

Imagine the stress on the person talking him through it. Knowing the chances of sucess are low and their lives are in his hands!

I watched a show where a woman with zero experience got in a simulator and was able to land an airliner using the instructions provided over the radio . Of course the " aircraft " had all of the most sophisticated controls available and all she really did was operate the correct knobs and buttons as instructed . Had that been a twin engine Beechcraft in a horrible crosswind she would have probably splattered .

I would give it a try. I've been flying RC aircraft for years. I grease 99.9% of my landings. Of course, I would want to have the support of the tower!
