PAO IN GF4 RATED OILS

Has anyone seen any MSDS's for the new GF4 motor oils that show if there is any PAO's in them. The only one I've found so far is Phillips 66 Trop-Artic? I believe it was better than 50% PAO.
I called Phillips 66 to comfirm this, but they wouldn't give me any information.
I also talked to Chevron. They said they weren't putting any PAO in theirs. They said them were getting the GF4 & SM rating by using group II+ base oils.

Trop-Arctic is one of the 4 Conoco Oils. My understanding was they were using Group III not PAO.

Most of the companies supplying GF-4 oils are using Group III and/or PAO to "tune" their oils. Small amounts of di-esters are being used to improve seal swell.

I'm wondering if these oils are being finely tuned am I wasting my money on the full synthetics? I'm starting to see the gap narrow all the time.

Yeah, but so is the "realistic" oci interval for many of us. I don't have a performance car, so good blends are 1/2 price for same "realistic" oci.

The group III and PAO base oils are just being used as correction fluids to allow Group I base oil plus a lower cost additive package to meet the GF-4 spec. I don't expect these to be superior in any way to a GF-4 oil made with all Group II+ base oil, but the marketing hype will be over the top.

These new oils will not be the equal of a synthetic blend oil made from the best quality Group II or II+ base oil plus PAO.
