I ordered up a transmission filter and pan gasket fit a 2005 Ford Taurus. Rock Auto had a AC Delco kit on a Wholesaler Closeout. I’ve ordered Ford Parts in an AC Delco box before with good results. These filter kits typically come with an exact filter with a somewhat cheap pan gasket. To my suprise I got what looks like a genuine Motorcraft transmission filter with a cheap gasket with AC Delco on it. Good enough. Here are some pics. And yes, the part was $1.98. Freight was $21.00 which is the new norm to get things up to Canada. I’ll check the part number. The TransAm fridge magnet is an added bonus. Enjoy. :D

AC Delco parts in a Ford Motorcraft box.
It makes you wonder about corporate evaluation of their precious brand names.

Q: How much would've those two basic parts been if you just bought 'em at a parts store in B.C.?

On a humorous note, I ordered AC Delco sway bar links for my Ford Ranger.
The straightforward "bolt and sleeve" AC Delco beats the needlessly weird curvy, black plastic overlay OE style.
However, members here laughed at using "AC Delco parts on a Ford".

Heck, we pine for the good old days of simpler designs and greater parts interchangeability...we have for >30 years.
Just imagine how evil and unwelcoming the car world will be in 20 more!

Good score for sure!
Nice to see folks still maintaining their vehicles with good parts.
F6DZ-7A098-AA made in USA but perhaps frowned upon up there right now!
What ATF is going in?
Mercon V. Last time I was able to get case of 6 Quarts of Castrol. Not too much choice on auto parts. Rock Auto is still my best bet.

Regarding the price at a local part store, $60 or about $42 USD equivalent.

The factory pan gasket number, F6DZ-7A191-B, is an elastomeric reusable design. People always get confused because Ford filters (most of the time there is at least 1 exception) don't come with the gasket as it is usually reusable.
I think AC Delco, like some other generic suppliers, throw in a cheap gasket in case the original Ford gasket gets mangled when removing it.

When dropping a pan which has been in place for a dozen years, how many here actually reuse the gasket?
I recently did a pan drop on a 2008 Chevy 6L90 and reused the gasket but only because it was a very robust design. I had a flimsy generic gasket on hand in case things went wrong. Also a friend lent me a small mini brush that was perfect for cleaning the gasket.

Edit. Actually, that one was on the truck for 5 years. So, no, I didn’t use one that was a dozen years old.

You should've ordered an aftermarket transmission pan with a drain plug, so you won't have to drop the pan again :D
Actually, I’m doing the pan drop to change the filter and I’ll cut it open to see what’s happening. For fluid changes I use my shop vac vacuum assisted Flo N Go to pull out 6 liters. :D Having said that my daughter was “ four wheeling” on the forestry road and bottomed out out the pan so I might look at a new one with the drain to replace it.

Taurus, best known for needing a replacement transmission. I've seen so many forsale that say "Runs good, just needs a transmission". :ROFLMAO:
