Going to get new trailer tires for the travel trailer. Taking the wheels off , i want to clean them and brush them, perhaps navel jelly for rust. Then paint them. The spare tire wheel is the worst as it sits horizontal in storage on the tongue. What paint would you use? I plan to use white engine enamel. I thought about white epoxy appliance paint but from experience that stuff stays soft for quite a few days. Changing the tires will probably scrape a lot of it off. Suggestions? Wheels are 13 inch ( no room for 14'a) 185/80 13.

Also, and suggestions on black gloss paint for the tongue? Its an 05 camper and not much rust at all , as i keep it under a shelter out of the sun.

There is paint made especially for wheels.

I used PlastiKote a while ago. They don't have white, but maybe another brand does.

Here's what I did:
Degrease wheels
Grind off rust and loose paint with a drill-mounted wire wheel
Use the same wire wheel to rough up all paint
Wash off any sanding dust
Mask tires off
Spray plastikote (I used more than one coat and made sure I had reached all the crevasses.

It worked really well and the paint held up quite well and still looked good after three years when I sold the vehicle.
