Paint Chips

Hi All,

I was washing my Accent today and noticed it is getting some road rash on the leading edges. Also I found a decent sized chip on the passenger door. Luckily, I have no dents.

I swear the Asian manufacturers have an entire department to figure out how thin they can paint a car and get away with it. Japanese or Korean---thin thin thin! My BMWs and VWs had far superior paint quality.

Yesterday, I was at Discount Tire getting my free tire rotate and balance. They were busy, so I had plenty of time to look through issues of Car and Driver that I hadn't read. Came across an ad for Dr. Colorchip. Looks interesting.

After washing and drying the car today, I placed my order. I hope this stuff works.

Looks interesting. I have a couple of chips on my Lexus I wouldn't mind getting rid of.

Got my kit in the mail yesterday. Today the weather doesn't look too promising. Maybe I'll get a chance to use it tomorrow.

So far, looks like a quality product.

I have it for my white tahoe. It works ok, but not nearly as nice as the ad shows. It does not fill the chip, it just colors it, so it is still visible. Now the white paint on my Tahoe is thick, so that might be part of the issue. Also, it tends to remove the paint from the chip when cleaning the surrounding area. It is not nearly as easy and simple as the video they show. Overall a decent product, but for $50, not 100% sold so far.
