Hello Bitoggers, I am needing 2 tires for the front of my Ranger. I have been running the 215/75R14 snows in the winter and 245/60R15 during the summer. Both sizes are getting hard to find. My thought so far is to go with 70,0000mi Hankook Optimo H724 Tire P215/75R14 for $57, not a bad deal. That way I could run them during the summer if I need too. I also have the option of FIRESTONE
WINTERFORCEStuddable Winter / Snow Size: 215/70R14 96S on Tire Rack for 60.25. I don't know how important it is to have snows up front (for steering), As I usually put the worn up front but the back are studded and in excellent shape. I also don't know anything about the Firestones. I am totally open to suggestions here, deals should be showing up too. Sure appreciate your incites here.

Those hankook h724 were an oem tire and are bad in the winter.

You also only mentioned steering.. while the front wheels do most of the braking.

I would run 4 winter tires or you may find yourself getting moving easily and not being able to stop/turn/maneuver.

215/75/R14 are the original size for that Ranger. Recently, my father gave me two very nice Cooper 215/75/R14 snows on steel rims off his recently departed 97 Ranger.I was going to use them on my old Lesabre (have 205/70/15)but the rims extend the tires out too far. I never liked Coopers but he never complained about them. I am going to see if I can peddle them around here.
