I got a P0401 code(EGR insufficent flow) on my 2000 Sebring convertible. I took the EGR valve off and cleaned it and put it back on. The code stayed off for a week and came back on.

I bought an EGR valve and a MAP sensor and decided to put the MAP sensor on first. As soon as I did the code cleared and it purrs like a kitten now.

Is this odd?

If your Chrysler is like mine the MAP is the dominate sensor of the car. Uses MAP versus throttle position tweaked by O2. Sure a little CTS and IAT for fuel map adjustment but that MAP is key. It is also what is used to detect EGR flow. If it is wacky you got NUTTIN!!!

This is a problem with codes.
If a code is for a lean O2 sensor, it is not necessarily the sensor that is bad, but whatever is causing the lean condition.
The inter relation of various parts and sensors causes code confusion.
