1)How do you like them overall ?

2)If used in a region where there is snow, ice etc,how is it for winter driving?

Thanks!

I'm considering purchasing one in the future possibly.

I don't own one but I have driven one.

It's based on a good chassis.

I slightly prefer the styling (particularly in the interior) of the similar CX-9. I didn't get to drive an Edge and CX-9 back to back so I can't really say which one drove better.

They weren't my cars so I didn't get to drive on the ice

I can't imagine that they would do any worse than anyone else's fwd/AWD crossover... At least as good as a Pilot or Highlander.

I do prefer the Edge quite a bit over it's black tie MK-X variant. I don't know why...I think it's that ugly grill on the MK-X that ruins it for me.

My Mother drives one on a lease, she intends to get another this Spring. She seems to really like it.

She gets around all Winter with the standard all-seasons that it came with but they salt pretty heavy around her place.

The 2011 Edge is really nice, the interior is a major improvement and MyTouch is sweet.

It will be based on a much better chassis in a couple years.

I see alot of Ford Edge down here...When I stop to get coffee on the turnpike I have asked alot of people who parked next to me with the Edge if they like it....Everyone said they loved it and have zero issues with it.

My neighbor just turned their Edge lease back in, they loved it. They fell on some hard times and couldn't lease another. I drove it on several occasions, it was nice, solid, reliable, and very good in the snow. I heard the 2011 is a major improvement.

One of those [2011] parked next to me in Miami Beach last night...It was awesome.

Just traded a 07' MKX(sibling to edge) for a new 2011 MKX for my wife.
I think my wife sleeps in it when I travel she loves it so much! No seriously this is one awesome vehicle. All the new technology and new 305 horse motor are really great improvements over last generation. Haven't driven it yet in the snow, but I assume it will be a tank just like the 2007 was. Great AWD system and after 41,000 miles on the 07' all I put on it were tires. New one came with Michelins thank God! Continentals on the last one were junk!! If you have any questions just PM me. Glad to answer.
Pete

The car magazines say to avoid the 22" wheels because they stiffen the ride so much. To me they don't even look good on that vehicle. I think 18's or 20's would be plenty.

I think the 22" rims only come on the Sport, but the Sport gets the 305 HP 3.7L too.

I think you're right..Sport only..and can you imagine what it's gonna cost for winter tires, or replacement tires!!??

I'm not sure all the models have it, but I really like the vertical LED strip marker lights on the outer edges of the front bumper (or maybe they're fogs??) - they look sharp though - very Audi-ish.

I'm not a Ford Edge owner, but I looked at one pretty hard when I bought my Freestyle. Here would be a suggestion if you aren't looking at new cars; check out a Taurus X.

I wanted to like the Edge. I loved the drive train. What I didn't like was that it really didn't have any more usable space then my Volvo wagon. A CRV, which is quite a bit smaller, had way more cargo space.

I realize cargo space isn't the determining factor for car purchases for most folks (it was a real biggie for me). However, I also liked the way the D3 platform rode versus the C3 platform. It just seemed more stable and better-handling to me. Both cars share the same drive train.

One big difference is styling. The Taurus X kinda looks like a toaster. The Edge is much cooler, particularly on the inside.

From what I've seen, you can get a much better deal on a Taurus X, given its lack of popularity, so that's another consideration.
