This came off a 114Kmi 2003 Silverado with a 4.8L Vortec. Was lowered on 22" wheels and looked like they had gone through the JCWhitney catalog and bought every chrome accessory available.
So itll look good sitting on the lawn when it needs a new engine, I guess.
I have a video of this when it was pulled off, but my coworkers used bad words so I cant post it.
Instead have a video of the Crown Vic NW Cruise. From my account.

Oh yeah, forgot that part. It was about 4000 miles this time. the PREVIOUS time it came in I was not there, but apparently that oil had been left in for '3 or 4 years'. Mileage, I dont know. I guess when my coworker pulled the plug that time, nothing came out. He thought it had been run dry. The plug was rounded, so he went and got a new plug for it. When he came back it had started slopping out.
So, yeah, this is the OCI immediately following a severely overextended OCI. That filter was, obviously, about the same. I honestly dont see how anymore could get packed in there.

That is disturbing.

I wonder at what mileage into that oci the filter went into bypass.

Perhaps it is a good argument for oversized filters.

Speechless !!!

All these sludge is the result of previous 3-4 years (40-50k miles ?) OCI with conventional oil ? The owner should do 3-4 shorter OCI's of around 1-2k miles, 4k miles is too long for severe sludge engine.

Well, this is a GM, so the filter has no bypass, it is in the block. Lifter tick was noted on arrival that disappeared once fresh oil and filter was installed.

That's it...now I'm gonna have nightmares. A double whammy! A rogue OCOD and sludge ball are gonna kill me in my sleep. And with that horrible joke....goodnite BITOG!

I guess it's more of a testament to the GM engine vs. the utter neglect of the owner. I'd go 1,000-mile changes with PU and a PureOne filter three times in a row and see how it was after those.

He he. As much as I'm no fan of Fram, it's hard to pin any blame on them this time. I can't think of any filter that would have held up to this mess.

You guys should call him and tell him to come back in 2000 miles.
That was very disgusting. Maybe add some MMO next time and have him come back in 1000-1500 miles.

Perhaps this is a good argument for CHANGING the oil and filter.

If you had a oversize filter in this situation all you'd have is more garbage...
