Hi,

Per my other thread, Im running speaker wire, which has an outdoor rating for UV, sunlight, etc. However I have two questions:

-I need to run this along siding (2x12 ga wires) for maybe two feet, keeping it as short as possible. I have 8" Al siding. What is the best way to attach and run the wire if I need to go horizontally and/or vertically?

-Since I need to connect to a speaker in the eaves of the roof (hanging from the soffit), there will be a small bit of exposed copper. What is the best way to protect this? Is dielectric grease good or will that get too dirty/dusty living outside?

Thanks!

It is just messy... Can I just impregnate the wires, squeeze the excess and then wipe away any that comes out after I tighten the connector down?

Can you tuck in inside the corner molding to go up the corner of your house?

I could... wasnt sure that under siding was the best way to do it though... Not that I know much...

Liquid electrical tape. brush it on, let it dry, put another coat on. Will not attract dust like dielectric grease.

So why not get a plastic wire loom at Lowe's, feed cable thru it and attach it with siding clips?
Additional protection for wires and you can use regular cable, since it won't be exposed to sunlight.

That is what I would do. It will be out of the weather and won't get accidentally snagged, plus you won't see it.
