Our First visit to Buc-ees

Sounds like a place my grandboys would like........ But they won't be able to see one anytime soon..........😞

Seems the West Coasters tends to not get good things like a lot of other places in the US.

I read long lines inside = May I buy gas and just pay and go? Does this vary by hour?
This is not correct - It's kind of like commenting on a car you dont own or never drove.
It was a question.

Why the defensive position?
It looks like a big gas station with clean bathrooms (good) filled with deadly snack foods (bad) and imported retail garbage (expected).
Track the quality of those brisket sandwiches for me.

Remember when casinos were going to elevate our lives?

Stopped at Buc-ees again last week. Was travelling with the wife which is the only time I stop, not because I think anything but positive on buc-ees but because the time it takes.

This was early Friday morning. It was a nothing special time but everything I-95 is touristy in the summer. I would not stop on a weekend ever I don't think.

This one is just outside Brunswick GA on I-95 - brand new. Another complete dumpster fire getting in and out, seemingly by design. Do they do this on purpose? There was acres of room where this one was built - still terrible. This is my biggest buc-ees complaint.

You can pay at the pump, but to be honest even when busy they seem to move the lines along pretty well. The issue here at least is its mostly tourists meandering about so getting around in the store can be a problem.

@Kira comments are apt. Its a giant gas station with a bunch of junk to buy and BBQ some people think is good but having tried it twice to make sure and its not. To each there own.

Buc-eez has super clean rest rooms and pays there employees well. That in my book makes them a reputable firm. However its way too hard to get in and out and takes too much time for road warriors like myself, so I avoid.

I plan my trips around Buc-ees if possible. The bathrooms are always clean and their gas is fresh since they go through so much. I have one local to me that I frequent. Their food prices are high, but they need to pay for all those employees and square footage somehow. The brisket tacos are good as well as the BBQ sandwiches. I do think that they need a larger variety of can/bottled sodas, they have just a few options.

Why all the empty speculation?

Really? Wow - I can tell you the new and (this months LoL) largest is Ok - but in Luling Texas - I’d recommend going to a couple BBQ places in town …
Exactly! I'm a fan of Buccees food in general, but I consider their brisket sandwich a crime against humanity and treason against the state of Texas and barbeque. If the one I had was typical, it way misses the mark - tasted like sandwich roast beef slathered in ketchup.

Yeah, mass produced and finished by heat lamps …
But, they sell and end stomach growl … and, there are far worse options for a quick hit …
I’m more likely to be chewing some jerky and sipping tea on the road - then stop at a restaurant …

I have to highlight the shout-out earlier in this thread about the Texan chain. In my experience they have exceptional food for a travel center, especially if you hit it when the food is freshly served. In additon to wrapped sandwiches, pizza, etc, the hot entrees with sides are exceptional. Not to mention they have an ample dining area.

If they were located side by side with Buccees, and I weren't Christmas shopping for that special rhinestone encrusted birdhouse made from turtle shells, I would choose Texan in a heartbeat.
