This is unhealthier in this section here than I ever knew.

Did you make some enemies, Pablo?

Some of these people must have run into some Amsoil dealer who claimed to have seen Big Foot or something. They can't appear to shake that image of the clown with the product(s).

Amsoil dealers take it on the chin rather well ...and often for Mr. Big Foot sighting Amsoil dealer

Here's to you, Mr. Big Foot seeing Amsoil dealer
(background vocal "here's to you mistER amsoil dE-a-lER!")
While others are taking in the flora and fauna ..you're perched with your camera and sale brochure 12 ft above the carpet.
(chorus - "you're above it all")

psst! Hey, Pabs ...you're in the PNW, aren't you?? shhh!! (

)

It's true, you can make an internet career out of Amsoil bashing. Interesting distraction.

Back to the topic...Amsoil is one of the many companies known for misleading claims...there is a process in place to get a license...yet some companies just want to be self certified..because guess what they dont pay the warranty...OEM's ..quick lube places will sell th eproduct and keep their fingers crossed and hope customers dont have a problem.

On topic

I missed the "I hate Amsoil and I'm doing something about it" header there

Does this include Exxon-Mobil? They distinctly "recommend" their M1 ATF for Chrysler automatics ...yet don't sport the +4 approved notation. They don't have it on their multi-vehicle semi-synthetic either.

I guess Amsoil is in good company ..or is it that XOM has just started slumming it

Go to any trans shop. Ask them what they put in various automatics when they service them or rebuild them. I doubt that there is more than one 55 gallon drum. Anything that it can't handle ..a bottle of "stuff" or a case or two of special fluid takes care of.

PT1,

You might want to keep an eye on your PM cause I would like to talk with you person to person...

Maybe not but then again XOM doesn't have the over aggressive rude belligerent in-your-face MLM sales force either......now do they? The guy at Autozone isn't calling me a liar when I ask him what oil meets GM specs. And IN FACT I did call XOM about their Mobil1 75w90 meeting the new GM diff specs and they clearly said NO it doesn't meet the new spec so we recommend you don't use it. That is the difference. It's called integrity.

This is beyond "normal". Will you please share your pain with us. We're here to help. We've all shot from the hip when we're hurt and damaged. The path to healing is just letting it all out and getting to the root of the disorder.

I'm here for you

Can't we all get along. Sorry I got a 90s flashback

PTI you have a very interesting posting on a test with M1, IV and Amsoil. I wish you could have posted more info, but I understand your concern and likely disclosure agreement your company had. Similarly, Pablo has gotten more information lately on Amsoil but is restricted from disclosure.

So I understand. I'm sure many like me, like reading the posts and looking to solve the puzzle. It'd sure be boring if all we had as source of lubes.

This year I have the "M1" truck, the "amsoil" car, and the anything on sale van. Its the only way I know how to get some experience with different products. DEX VI is now in the queue.

Ok, Thanks I'm cooled down now...(poured some DexVI over my head...

) Hey it's just an oil forum and we need to all lighten up before Dr. Phil logs on......

Pablo - The info you are getting is that the reformulated Universal ATF is a PAO/Ester based fluid with an Afton Chemical additive package very similar or identical to the one licensed for a D6 rating but possibly "tweaked" for better Group IV/V base oil compatibility?

MO - that is my personal estimation.

PT1 - I am sorry if I made you angry. I did not intend my defense to be a personal attack. I have yet to get to the bottom of why someone at Amsoil would tell you such a thing. My only guess today is a series of misunderstandings.

Pablo: No big deal. But the tech did really tell me that..so maybe they need some serious customer service dept re-training.....or training.Amsoil is very good motor oil in fact I know that by watching friends use it for years. For me it's just too expensive but their ATF makes me wonder as does all the "one size fits all" ATFs. When DexIII was the GM fluid of choice there was no question that the universal ATFs were better. BUt my design friends at GMPT say "be careful" the new 6L series transmissions run a lot hotter because the clutch pack tolerances are tighter and DexIII would burn out pretty quick. So I am certain that they know what they are talking about. That's my concern. That's all.
