Other ATF equal to Dexron VI ?

I don't know of ANY boutique that has been shown to equal or exceed DexVI specs. I do know that Amsoil markets an ATF for of an ATF for the same market. The Redline product is called D6. I have requested specs for the new fluid, but Redline replied that the pdf isn't ready yet.

Please be careful with this. Some companies claim to be equal to DEXRON VI, however, this is their claim which is unsubstantiated. If there is no published test data, and they do not appear on the approval list, then it probably isn't an equivalent fluid. Hope that helps to clarify the difference between CLAIMS and actually approved fluids.

Correct. He asked a question, I answered. He didn't ask if they were approved or not.

FTR, GM GoodWrench DEXRON-VI, Valvoline DEXRON-VI and Pennzoil DEXRON-VI are the only three approved DEXRON-VI fluids that are available over the counter.

The reformulated AMSOIL ATF, now recommended for Dexron VI and Ford SP (among others), was produced starting in Oct 06.
I heard it from the one of the driveline specialists at AMSOIL.

Ask him to send you the test data and listen for the sound of his keister puckering up. I have formally requested test data twice and they finally told me they have never tested the atf against DexronVI...I have been an automotive development engineer long enough to know that anyone who makes claims without testing is just spouting an opinion. Besides, what company actually re-formulates their products without testing them?

You are one very confused pooch. Of course Amsoil tests their fluids. I wish you would stop spreading lies. Who said Amsoil didn't test their products?

The Amsoil tech line guy told me they have not tested their atf against DexronVI and you should not be so unprofessional to call people who disagree with you a liar. You are the person who is peddaling this oil and should be able to refute these claims with test data instead of calling people liars. Dude I have a MS degree in mechanical engineering and believe me I am not confused because I have over 10 years personal test engineering experience. If Amsoil said "yes we tested this ATF against DexronVI but we are not willing to share the data" that would be one thing. But they specifically told me they didn't test it.

For a mechanical engineer you are VERY imprecise.

Amsoil didn't test their ATF? See that's what I'm saying - NO AMSOIL person told you this.

So your best answer is to call me a liar. Nice marketing. Unfortunately, in the "real" automotive world that doesn't fly.

From the Amsoil website:

"AMSOIL Preferred Customers purchase AMSOIL products at wholesale cost, without the responsibilities of owning a Dealership.

Preferred Customer Memberships are recommended for people who are not necessarily interested in the business opportunity, but want the lowest possible prices on the best lubrication and filtration products for their vehicles and equipment. Preferred Customers pay the same low prices for AMSOIL products that AMSOIL Dealers pay.

Ten dollars gets you a six-month trial Preferred Customer membership for buying AMSOIL products at wholesale prices. Here is what Preferred Customers get:

Preferred Customers buy AMSOIL products at wholesale prices. The discount price is 15-20% less than regular retail prices. If you buy $100 of AMSOIL products a year, a Preferred Customer membership will save you money!
Preferred Customer memberships may be renewed indefinitely for only $20/year."

So am I wrong here about the $20 like you said before?

I didn't call you a liar. I merely said as I said. No Amsoil person correctly told you Amsoil didn't test their ATF.
