Orcas filmed making sunfish explode by ramming them at high speed

Orcas are incredibly intelligent, but also brutal. There's video of them finding a seal alone floating on some ice and while they couldn't reach it (even by reaching up onto the ice), they teamed up by making waves, which made the seal slide off where another orca was waiting for it. He/she didn't eat it though - it launched it into the air and knocked it unconscious, as I recall. Just for fun....

I hear they are damaging sailboat rudders off the coast of Spain sometimes even sinking them just for something to do. Maybe if boaters could carry a few flash bang grenades on board they would think twice?

I've spent hours watching Orca videos, they are amazingly intelligent and have obvious high-level communication and planning skills. They fascinate me, but they also make me cringe a bit. They are nick named killer whales for a reason. It's sad to watch them kill a 70-year-old blue whale just to eat its tongue for example.

It appears to me that the title is misleading. They don't really "explode". More accurately, it appears they are shredded in a sudden event. It's hard to tell from the angle, murky water, etc.

I think you’re thinking about this too hard. 😂

I’m sure the sunfish would argue with you.
Sunfish - “Dude! I exploded into a thousand little pieces when that (deleted expletive) rammed into me!”
