My wife!! Holy cow, she wants every cat and dog. You would think she lives by herself, never had kids and roots for Team B.......... none of which are remotely true. She just loves animals. In a few years we may get a couple dogs again, but cats alone make it tough to travel.
 
I am guessing if you can train the cats to herd the dogs then problem solved? They can manage without your involvement as they have for thousands of years?
 
One thing I learned from my old fashioned Nana was, "No animals on the bed!" I've stuck to that my whole life and not one regret.

Her other rule that nobody gets to go to bed until all the dishes were washed and put away... Not so much.

No, you have to let the dishes soak....

You take really hot water, with detergent, and put the dishes in there. For a few hours. Then you go to sleep and that's when the magic happens. In the morning when you wake up, the dishes will be washed and put away.

Works here anyway.
