It seems possible the Powerball lottery might reach this amount by tomorrow nights drawing. If nobody wins tomorrow nights drawing, it will almost certainly hit one billion dollars by next Wednesdays drawing. I do know I won't win it because I don't play the lottery, but it is fun to watch all the hype.

Thing is, if you had that kind of money you'd be a target. Terrorists would want to kidnap you or your kids for ransom money. You can't go for a drive and leave your car unlocked.

Money doesn't always equal freedom.

I'd rather have about 1.5 million.

I'd think you could hire a legal or proxy service to take a cut and make you the anonymous winner. Makybe a trust?

Do it like Spain's El Gordo lottery, and spread the wealth. 2.43 billion with 1,600 lucky winners at $434,800 each, and a grand prize of 3 million euros with other smaller amounts sprinkled on top. I am definitely in on that kind of lottery.

I'd prefer a couple more--it's not the 90's anymore.

But yeah, winning a couple mil probably doesn't even hit the papers anymore. I mean, someone somewhere is winning each time, yet it never hits the news.

How nice would it be to just win a small jackpot and be set for life--yet not have anyone know? Drive the same beaters, work the same job, do the same things--but have zero worries.

*sigh*

I still probably won't buy a ticket. Haven't in 5 years, not sure if I want to break that record.

My wife called me Wednesday evening, all wigged out that the store she had stopped at wouldn't take a credit card for lottery tickets. She wanted to know if I had any cash. I told her I did and she asked if I would meet her at the garage door so she could go back to the store and buy some tickets. I took her a 10 dollar bill and she was back in a few minutes with a lottery ticket with 5 chances of winning the Wednesday drawing. She didn't get even one number right from the five tickets. Her logic is, 'if you don't play, you have NO chance of winning'.....which is right, but I don't like the odds.

More than likely when its won, there will be at least a couple winners...what with all the people buying tickets.

Reminds me of a conversation I had many years ago with the guy who ran the parking lot at the train station. We both agreed that we'd rather win the lottery after one of these big ones because no one will care due to the hype around the big winner from the drawing before.

You get a year to cash a winning ticket. Save it in a safety deposit box then when Trump does something epic cash it in.

The first thing you do if you win the lottery is get an attorney that specializes in trust and don't be a fool appearing on TV saying "look at me, look at me".

Mark Zuckerberg still walks around his neighborhood, alone.

The contract to claim the prize may require some publicity for the Lottery.
