A very close friend of mine passed away recently from cancer and gave me his MF16 tractor. Mechanically, it is perfect, however the selection of implements it came with need some significant TLC, as he didn't use them and they've been sitting outside for years. It has hydraulics and front/rear PTO's. As far as belts for the implements are concerned, I assume I should be able to visit the MF dealer and procure them?

I've got:
-Tiller
-Snowblower
-Grading Blade
-Mower Deck

We had an MF12 at our cottage, so I'm very familiar with the tractor, however this one has a number of additional options the old 12 didn't have, like the hydraulics. Anybody with some experience with this particular model who has knowledge of stuff that should be watched for, please feel free to add your two cents.

A pic of her behind the Jeep:

Sweet! I can't tell much about it from the pic, but the old iron beasts are nice to have for some jobs and (to me) are fun to fix up and restore. I haven't had the time in a few years. Last fixer upper for me was a Case 220 garden tractor.

Not mine, but she's identical to this one:

Big Kohler 16HP single.

You'll probably need to find fairly generic parts for it. Massey never made their own garden tractors; the earliest yellow ones were made by Dura, and the MF series were either made by AMF or Badger Northland. The 1000 series was made by Snapper. Yours is around 1975 or 1976 if my memory serves correctly.

The MF16 was only made for a year or two. The engine parts should be fairly generic; other things like belts can be matched up with some hunting. I think the engine is a K341 side shaft. There are a couple of garden tractor forums, and even those orphans have a few guys left who know just about everything about them and where parts can be found. Implements are another order of magnitude-most of the parts will need to be fabbed up by you. AGCO currently owns the Massey brands, but I don't know if they have any information available for those older lawn tractors.

Thanks, yeah, I kinda figured as much. I know getting belts for the MF12 was a chore...
