That is so cool! I never totally understood how differentials worked. That video really made it easy to follow. And nice use of the classic "Tinker Toys".

I always wondered why early cars, like the Model T, had a flattened rear axle housing. I didn't realize that they were single axle drive with no differential action at all.
 
My professor in a technology course I have to take showed us that yesterday in class.
Man them old timers really knew how to get a point across!

There's a lot to be said for what people learned to do when they didn't have flashy Internets around to do it for them.
 
Ya. I'll take a hands-on 3D model to play with anyday over a computer generated cartoon. Remember the Visible V-8 model kits you could build when you were a kid? Those are way cool.
