I've stayed with the oem filters on my 99 miata and 00 lexus.I trust the wix brand but need to know for sure the wix will perform like the oem in the way of flow rates and such. thanks

You will like the Wix filter. All filters have to meet a mininum flow standard, so don't worry, any filter will do the job as far as flow rate.

Since Mazda is a Ford company they may use Purolator made filters, so you may not see any added benefit by going to Wix.

Hold a Motorcraft in one hand - even a Purolator instead. Then hold a Wix in the other hand.

Yu will notice a difference. It's clearly evident the Wix is a better filter.

The OEM Mazda filter is a high quality filter. However WIX is also high quality and i think you will be happy with it.

If price is an issue, you can get the Mazda OEM ones online for around 3.50~4.00 + S&H which puts them about at the same price as WIX.

wix are a nice filter. I use 51333s with my Audi 12v V6 and fleet filter saved me over 50% from retail. They saved me even more money ordering filters for my father's 996 carerra 4.

I have an Carquest filter on my truck right now. It is one of three WIX brand filter's that I know of. I normally use either an AC Delco/Supertech/Autozone brand filter's. All of those are Champion filter's. Which are very high quality. But I forgot to pick any filter's up for my last Oil Change. So I went to the nearest parts store and picked up an Carquest filter. I was surprized on how well the filter was made. I recommend using a WIX filter over all other's.

When I cut open filters it is evident WIX appears to have the best components inside, there does not seem to be the usual cost cutting measures. Carquest basic filter is a well made Wix and I was impressed with their construction. Of all the filters I opened it was the only filter once opened that the insides sprung up at me and I di not have to grab them out.
