OK this year is it - New EV - RECOMMENDATIONS PLEASE

Ah ok I thought you were older. My apologies. Not sure why I thought you were mid-late 70s. My mistake.
No worries............hahahahaha I may look 100, but I'm only 52. (kidding, 67 and feel 107, wait not really)

After we pick out an EV.............

Next is a sports car, some kind of roadster. Separate thread for that!! Hahahaha

Mustang Mach E. I would have said Ioniq5 until the brake subscription B.S. going on with the rear brakes. Unless, of course, you get this kind of stuff done at a certified shop. In which case, i'd recommend both. Or the Equinox/Prologue sisters.

You're the right demographic for Corvette ownership. I have short shorts, white socks, and white New Balance shoes stored for the day I'm old enough to take our Corvette down to a Cars and Coffee.

I would give the new Polestar consideration - the latest model is an attractive SUV. They start around 60 K but they quickly get up over 80K.

I’ve driven the Bolt - it’s a tiny economy car with short range. 180 mile trips are at the limit of what it can do, no traffic, in summer. Sure, it’s cheap, but it’s an around town runabout that feels as cheap as it is. It’s perfect for the kids, as they don’t drive much (they live in downtown DC, and walk, bike or Metro most of the time) and it’s easy to park and cheap to own.

Get a good charger. Ours is hardwired for 60A service, meaning it will charge at 48A (they all run at 80% of rated capacity) and it easily switches between J1172 (our new Volvo PHEV and our son’s Bolt run the J1172) and NACS (Tesla).

I noticed Polestar offers a really good looking selection of slightly used models. EVs that are very like new with surprisingly low miles being offered at truly reasonable prices for folks looking to dip your feet into the EV pool at this time.
