while AT MY LOCAL WALMART I NOTICED THAT THE OILS IN THE FIVE QUART JUGS ARE PRICED AT THE FOLLOWING Pennzoil $9.95 quaker state same havoline and castrol gtx $10.95 supertec$7.95motorcraft syn blend$10.95 and supertec Full Synthetic at $13.95 mobil 1 super syn $19.95 and extended performance at $29.95.wouldn't the super tec Full Synthetic be a better deal.would it not be better than regular oil? i will stock up if it is.i have a sonta with a 3.3 v6.

Wow! That was rather painful to read.

To answer your question Supertech is not a bad oil. On the other hand it's not a great oil either. The add pack of the oil is rather weak and not designed to go very far.

No reason to "stock up" - that's the std price of SuperTech. Unless you're concerned about future price increases.

SuperTech is apparently pure grp III (excellent base) w/ an add. pack that can go 7.5k max (I've seen a used oil analysis around that mileage where the TBN was starting to get a bit low). So if you're running a reasonable OCI, then SuperTech Full Syn. should be the ticket. (used oil analysis once for proof of concept.)

The best deals I see at WM:

$1.68 TropArtic (Conaco) blend
$10/5qt MC (Conaco) blend

Limited weights but everyday prices.

Otherwise I get synths like PP, QS Q-xxx, or Synpower on sale/rebate from the chains for usually $1-2, sometimes free.

I 'm a former Super Tech oil user.. Like the others state with the rebates you can go further and cheaper on PP, Q Horesepower, etc.
