used oil analysis are greatly over-valued here. You only need two or three and then you know too much already!
Seriously, once you get the trending it is easy to figure out.
We have killed dozens of GM vehicles since the OLM was introduced. One recently sold had half a million miles on it and was quiet as a mouse, no oil usage at all. ALWAYS serviced via OLM since brand new.

What oil/filters were you running?
Although not entirely necessary, I use a synthetic oil filter (WIX XP) for that extra peace of mind. I wouldn't mind running a PF61 if it were available, but I'm just not too big on the PF61E, which is all I can get locally. If I am buying the filters from the States, might as well get something worthwhile.

I would suspect they are calibrated for the type of oil that is recommended for the vehicle. Let's say you have a car that is spec'd for conventional oil and you decide to use synthetic. Obviously the OLM would tell you the oil is ready to be changed before it actually needed to be. Is there some sort of math people use to decide when to change the oil. Let's say for instance whatever miles the OLM says to change the oil add 50% more miles to the total. Was just curious.

We run whatever synthetic is on sale with a name brand filter. Probably the first 100k miles was all amsoil as we used to use it exclusively.
When it was sold I started it dead cold and then showed the man my brand new 2013 van that is noisier!
