Oil leaks on Chevy LS engines

I decided to order up a set of oil cooler lines attached to a new mounting block from Rock Auto. They were about $50 plus shipping. I plan to put them in next time I’m at the shop with the hoist.( I don’t crawl under cars anymore) That should get rid of that pesky leak potentially from the plug in the side of the cooler line block.

Now for the rest of the story. I removed the oil cooler lines and integral block. After wrestling with the assembly I got it removed, dropped the front driveshaft where it was bolted to the diff and then got the new assembly installed. Thanks for your interest on this topic.

My 6.0L was leaking at the gasket on the rear main seal plate. Impossible to see without pulling the trans, I tried all the easy stuff first hoping I'd get lucky (but knowing I wouldn't)lol

BTW, if you end up doing the rear main...get the whole plate with new bolts/gasket/seal installed from GM. Also don't be alarmed that the seal appears to be installed backwards...it's a teflon seal and GM does it this way.

Just for fun I decided to look at the original oil cooler block on the end of the lines. I used an allen wrench to remove the plug on the side of the block. It unscrewed with almost no torque. The O ring was very hard and I could not stretch it at all to remove it. I also included a shot of the interior of the block. Enjoy the shots.
