This is a part of what I meant when I wrote that one could take a shotgun approach without really diagnosing the problem.
You may be right and a new valve cover and Kreen would be a pretty cheap and valid try.

Am I correct in assuming that the PCV system is incorporated into the Valve Cover and that is why you are suggesting a replacement??
