Oil for track wrx

Hey all, I have been doing alot of reading & am now more confused than befote I stared. I have a track only WRX with a 2L motor with forged pistons & oil cooler, here in Perth Australia we are now in summer and will see temps around 36 deg C, I have been running ELF 10W50 and would like to change to a Redline 10W40 is there problems with glazing bores with full synthetic oils ? and is this suitable oil ?

I am kind of a new guy here. But what I do know is that Redline was founded around racing and their products are execllent.

I would have issues running redline products in any of my vehicles.

I am using RL LWS oil in the gearbox & have done in previous cars with great success, I have just read (WRX engine builders) that full synthetics can glaze the bore causing blow buy etc, also forged engines do use a little oil so replacing can become expensive but I would rather pay a little extra than use cheap oil & have to rebuild a motor.

Redline is built for racing, so it will work great. If you like Amsoil, their new 'Dominator' line of racing oils would be worth trying....

if it a track only car, why not use a dedicated race oil?

I would think Redline Racing 30wt would work great

We use Motul 300v 15/50 in our 49lb/min turbo EJ207 in Las Vegas during the summer.(~48c max ambient )
