Oil for tool box slides?

Just purchased a new Torin 56 inch tool chest and am curious as to what oil/grease would be best to use in the ball bearing slides. Torin recommends lubing the slides twice a year but fails to mention if that's with motor oil, grease or whatever. I have used engine oil in the past on my old boxes but they were not ball bearing. Prob doesn't make a big difference.

I have a nice toolbox, but nothing like yours. If you have any firearms lubricants I would use that. Break Free CLP comes to mind. Synthetic, lasts a long time, and does its job on everything from door hinges to belt fed weapons.

That being said I dont think it matters. I use some HUGE file cabnets, things see more weight (paperwork and supplies) and use than any tool box I ever encountered. And they use 3-in-1 oil in them, I asked the secretary that keeps the keys.

Because they dont see high temps or RPM's as long as you use something it should hold up well.

Thanks Dave. I like the idea of using gun oil. I have some MP-PRO-7 that I can use when the time comes. Yeah before I just used Redline 10w30 that I have in a oil gun for hinges and whatnot. WHat kind of tool box do you have? This box is a bit overkill, but I like it

I thought I use to have alot of tools. This thing makes my collection over the years seem quite small.
