oil foaming issue?

ok,
this weekend, I replaced the glow plug relay in wifes truck. I also changed fuel filter, oil and oil filter, and air filter.

Now the truck has some drivabililty issues. namely it idles irregularly between 500 and 800 rpms, mostly when at stop lights etc...and sometimes shows a little hesitation to start moving when you hit the gas.

Truck is a 2002 F250 SD with the 7.3L Powerstroke.

I could not figure out what was going on, and someone said oil foaming. I went and checked the oil, and although I put in the correct amount (15 quarts) the level looks really high. The oil looks basically normal, but there were some air bubbles in it.

I used Delco oil in the one gallon blue jugs and a motorcraft filter when I changed it.

any ideas or thoughts?

if it is foaming, what oil should I use?

High oil level will cause foaming,remove some until the level reads right.

This is a common issue with the 7.3. Usually this is related to the oil, but not always. As stated previously, make sure your level is where it should be. After that I would try a run of Motorcraft diesel oil and see if it foams with that in. Also check out the dieselstop.com for more info on this subject.
