Oil Filter Wear Metals?

I was just browsing through my stash today and looking at the various constructions of some oil filters i've bought recently, and when I took my PureOne out of it's box, I noticed that when I put my finger around the threads, there were fine metal particles left on my finger, along with some other crud around the metal housing around where the holes are, between the gasket. Could those fine metal particles get into my oil and affect anything? they were really really fine, and just left a gray powder on my finger. I checked the rest of my filters and a couple others had this as well...

That's common from the taps used to make the threads. I whipe it clean with paper towel that has virgin motor oil on it. Make sure you don't leave behind paper towel chunks though.
