The size of the filter will only effect the oil level in the pan if the retaining valve fails, and then only when the engine is stopped or for the first few seconds of startup.
Mobil should have a cross reference chart or web site. I usually "assume" (slightly reduced risk than a wild guess) that the manufacturers cross reference is right most of the time. Although it is fun sometimes to take a filter number and cross it to another brand, then a second, maybe a third, and then back to the original just to see how screwed up it is.
